Call for Art FAQs

  • ShoreLake Arts has a number of opportunities for artists throughout the year. Starting in late Spring/Summer 2026, we are looking for new artists to showcase in our renovated gallery at 521 NE 165th St. Shoreline. In addition, we work with Ridgecrest Public House across the street from the ShoreLake Arts office to feature a select artist on a monthly basis.

ShoreLake Arts also sponsors an annual Outdoor Holiday Arts Market in November for booth artists.

We recommend subscribing to our monthly newsletter (see form below) to get on our list for the latest announcements.

  • Yes! Our Call to Art shows are open to emerging or established artists of all ages.

Please note that children under the age of 18 will require a parent or guardian present to review agreements and legal terms.

*Disclaimer: We cannot accept any artwork that illustrates nudity, profanity, violence or any subject that could be derived as offensive. ShoreLake Arts reserves the right to refuse any work that doesn’t fit within our organizational standards, rules, and guidelines.

  • Entry fees for shows vary by the venue. For example, ShoreLake Arts does ask for a small fee to reserve a booth space during our annual Outdoor Holiday Art Festival, but we do not ask for a fee to show work at our gallery.

For future shows, ShoreLake Arts may adjust their policy due to overhead costs, so please read the show agreement carefully before applying.

  • Our commission rate varies depending on the event and venue. For our Ridgecrest Public House monthly artist’s feature, ShoreLake Arts do not take a commission for any work sold, but the artist is responsible for all taxes, fees, order processing, shipping, etc. for purchases made.

Our staff is currently updating our terms and conditions for our gallery re-opening, so please check back for new information as it is available. Also, please subscribe to our monthly newsletter (see form below) to get the latest announcements.

  • All artwork submitted for any show or event should be ready for sale and produced in a professional manner. Any work should be clean, varnished/polished, framed (if needed) and prepared to present to clients and customers.

Before submitting your work for review, we recommend the following:

    • Work should be well executed, finished and have professional presentation.

    • 3D work / sculptures should be stabilized on a strong base so they can be securely displayed.

    • Any 2D artwork should have a wire hanger; no sawtooth or other hanger types can be accepted.

    • Artwork created on canvas should have finished edges, gallery wrapped and/or use a floater frame.

    • Artwork created on paper should be framed with glass or plexiglass to protect the artwork.

    • Frames, mats and glass should be clean; free of debris, dust, smudges, chips and cracks.

  • At this time, ShoreLake Arts does not require artists to provide proof of insurance to show their work at our gallery or other select locations, but it is strongly encouraged that artists protect their work through obtaining their own insurance.

  • Depending on the venue, ShoreLake Arts is limited to the type and sizing of the artwork. For our Ridgecrest Public House artist show, we are only able to accept 2D work on paper (framed) or on canvas. In our new gallery space, we will have more flexibility to show some 3D sculpture work as well as 2D work.

Currently, we ask that artists please restrict the size of their art submissions to the following:

    • 2D items not to exceed 24” in either direction

    • 3D items not to exceed 40” in height or 2” in width at the base

*Disclaimer: We cannot accept any artwork that illustrates nudity, profanity, violence or any subject that could be derived as offensive. ShoreLake Arts reserves the right to refuse any work that doesn’t fit within our organizational standards, rules, and guidelines.

  • This may vary on the venue. Please read through the show terms and conditions or our staff will communicate to you the number of allotted pieces.

  • Our popular 6x6 NW Small Works Show is typically in October every year. Please check the 6x6NW page on our website here or subscribe to our monthly newsletter below to get the latest announcements.

  • Yes! We appreciate any donations to our office at 521 NE 165th St, Shoreline during business hours. Any donated artwork can be sold at our gallery location or select events to raise funds for our events and educational programs.

If you have artwork to donate, please email us at info@shorelakearts.org.
