Participating Artist Information

  • If you are a past participant, please read the registration form carefully — there have been some changes.

    Online registration is closed.
(Works will not be accepted without prior online registration.)

    • Registration fee: $6 for adults; free for participants under 18.

    • Submission limit: A maximum of 10 pieces per artist.

Please do not register until your work is completed, as we require titles for each piece.

Registration will remain open through the last day of art drop-off — October 3rd.

    • Size: Finished artwork must be 6" x 6" and flat-backed.

    • 3D Work: Artwork with three-dimensional components may not exceed 6" x 6" x 6" and should ideally be able to hang flat on a wall. Hooks are not necessary. A small amount of table space will be available, but it is very limited for 3D pieces.

    • Works on Paper: Pieces on paper (or other thin materials) must be mounted, matted, or framed so that the back is stiff.

    • Smaller Works: Works smaller than 6" x 6" must be mounted, matted, or framed so that the outer dimensions of the finished piece are 6" x 6".

    • Framing: Framed works are accepted, but framing is not required. The outer edge of the frame may not exceed 6" x 6".

    • Originality: All entries must be original and may not be copied from published artworks or photographs.

    • Medium: Work of any medium on any surface will be accepted.

      • Please, no glitter or unfixed charcoal/pastel.

    Additional Notes

    • Earlier is better! Please allow extra time for mailing.

    • Original packaging materials will not be saved.

    • Each artwork, regardless of delivery method, should be sandwiched — but not attached — between two pieces of flat, clean 6" x 6" cardboard.

    • Each work must be clearly labeled with the following information:

      • Title

      • Composition of work (medium/materials used)

      • Artist’s name

The label may be removed upon sale, so please do not glue or affix it so strongly that it cannot be lifted off easily.

Artists may also include a personal business card firmly affixed to the back of their piece, or handwrite their information directly on the back.
This is in addition to the main label and will remain with the artwork once sold.

    • Works on paper (or other thin materials) must be mounted, matted, or framed so that the back is sturdy and the piece can be hung by the buyer.

    • Artwork that is too flimsy or on thin paper and cannot be displayed properly may be rejected until it is properly mounted.

    • ShoreLake Arts cannot guarantee the placement or arrangement of artworks within the exhibition.
It is the nature of group shows that some pieces may be displayed less prominently than others.

    • Unsold works left as a donation, or sold works not picked up within one month, will become the property of ShoreLake Arts.

    Artwork Pickup Location:
    ShoreLake Arts Office
    521 NE 165th Street

    • Artwork to be returned by mail will be shipped via USPS on or around November 14th, 2025.

      • Shipping costs are the responsibility of the artist.

      • An invoice will be sent, and payment must be received in advance of shipping.

  • Liability, Photography & Publicity

    • Artwork will not be insured by ShoreLake Arts.

    • Photography of individual works and the 6X6NW installation will be allowed without limitation.

    • ShoreLake Arts reserves the right to exclude any works deemed offensive or otherwise inappropriate for public display.

    • By participating, artists understand and agree that uncredited images of their work may be used for event publicity and marketing purposes.

  • Exhibition Philosophy

The aim of 6X6NW is to be an open and inclusive community art exhibit and fundraiser. We strive to display as many submitted works as possible. However, ShoreLake Arts reserves the right to withhold certain works from exhibition if necessary.

As we plan for 6X6NW, we continually consider the needs of our members, event sponsors, guests, and participating artists. Our goal is to ensure the exhibition remains fair, respectful, and enjoyable for all.

In the event that a submitted work is declined for exhibition, a member of the ShoreLake Arts staff will contact the artist personally to explain the decision.

Would you like me to now assemble everything into a single, fully formatted 6X6NW Artist Information & Guidelines document? It would read smoothly from start to finish, with headings, consistent spacing, and a professional layout.
