Kristen Wickersham Fine Art
Visual Artist • Mixed Media • Nature-based Realism
Kristen (Jones) Wickersham has been interested in art since she was a child; Kristen would spend hours drawing, painting and making creations with any supplies that she could find. Recognizing her talent, Kristen’s parents enrolled her into art classes with a local artist where she learned basic drawing and painting skills. When Kristen wasn’t creating art, she spent much of her time on the family farm in rural Ohio: exploring the woods, foraging for plants, collecting insects, or making friends with the many farm animals. This relationship with nature developed a lifelong passion that continues to inspire her artwork and commitment to animal welfare.

During high school, Kristen began exploring art as a career inspired by her art teacher. This lead her to apply to the Art Institute of Pittsburgh where she focused on fine tuning her drawing, painting and composition skills in addition to an introduction to computer graphics. This led her to a decades-long career working in marketing as a designer and project manager.
In 2017, Kristen and her family moved from Cincinnati, Ohio to Seattle, Washington. At this time, she decided to step away from the corporate world, and pick up her pencils and brushes again to pursue fine art. Over the course of the next few years, she has taken additional instruction at Gage Academy and Seattle Artist’s League while building her portfolio. Kristen completed the Milan Art Institute Mastery Program in June 2025.

She travels frequently along the West Coast looking for new inspiration for her art projects. Her latest artistic venture is her new Wild Bird series that incorporates her love of nature featuring local birds and flora of Washington State. Kristen works and creates her art out of her home-based studio.
The artist currently resides in Seattle with her spouse and two rescue dogs. She enjoys gardening, biking, kayaking, hiking, camping, and reading in her spare time.
