Doug’s fascination with woodworking began in 1980 when he began building a cedar-strip canoe
in a small garage in Seattle. This first humble garage/workshop has expanded with time and now
sits on a wooded half-acre north of Seattle. Over the past 30 years Doug has handcrafted snow
toboggans, game boards, wooden boats, hammock pushers, custom tools, furniture, and other
unique items. His workshop constantly receives reclaimed lumber from across Pacific
Northwest. Currently on the workbench are pieces from the Seattle’s fabled Kingdome and the
classic 18th century schooner Wawona.
