A native of New Delhi, India, Rohini Mathur is a self-taught oil painting artist who now lives and works in Bothell, Washington. She creates vibrant paintings of colorful florals, botanicals and gardens that pay homage to the immense wonders of Mother Nature. Inspired by the desire to express the beauty of the natural world, Rohini brings to life her paintings using her own distinctive style and interpretations rather than literal renderings. Rohini is an award-winning artist whose art has been juried into several exhibitions and shows in Washington and Oregon. Her painting was one of the winning art pieces at the 2020 City of Kent “Kaleidoscope” exhibition. Rohini’s paintings were also selected as finalists for West Seattle Garden Tour Competition and La Conner Daffodils Poster Art contest. In 2019, her artwork was selected and she was awarded City of Kent Purchase Awards for her paintings at the 2019 Kent Summer Art Exhibition. Rohini’s paintings are now part of City of Kent Public Art collection. Her artwork also won an award for the 2019 City of Kent “Look Up” exhibition. In 2018, she was selected as one of the winner Apprentices for the 2018-2019 Washington State Heritage Arts Apprenticeship Program. Her art has been juried into several art exhibitions and shows at several local galleries such Kirkland Art Center, Parklane Gallery, artEAST Gallery, Schack Art Center and Gallery North. Rohini’s artwork can be found in numerous private and public collections worldwide including the public collection at City of Kent, WA.
