Amaranta Ibarra Sandys

I am a South Seattle based Mixed Media Artist and Teaching Artist. I was born and raised in Mexico City. My artwork has been inspired by social change, nature and cycles, reclaiming ancestral images My illustrations depict personal visual narratives through bright colors, bold lines & textures. I portrayed peoples struggles and awareness from indigenous rights, racial social justice, equity and diversity. Women are connected to mind and hearth and through my artistic practice I try to find balance on creative space, urban life and family time. In my artistic practice I use acrylics, clay, vintage maps, watercolor pencils and found objects.
